India Salutes the Heroes of Operation Sindoor as President Murmu Marks Anniversary of Precision Strike
President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday commemorated the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, praising the Indian Armed Forces for their decisive action against terrorism. The President emphasized that the “brutal attack at Pahalgam” was met with “befitting and exemplary precision,” sending a clear message to those who seek to threaten the nation.
Operation Sindoor was a direct military response launched following a devastating terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives. President Murmu’s tribute highlighted the unmatched courage, sacrifice, and professionalism of the soldiers involved, noting that the nation stands vigilant, united, and prepared to respond with strength to any security threats.
The Scale of the Military Operation
- Operation Sindoor was officially launched on May 7, 2025, as a targeted strike against terror infrastructure.
- The Indian Armed Forces successfully destroyed nine major terror launchpads located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
- Facilities belonging to prominent terror groups, including Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen, were specifically targeted.
