In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, West Bengal will participate in all seven stages of voting for its candidates, much like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
The poll dates for the Lok Sabha elections in each of the states and Union Territories were released by the Election Commission on Saturday. Phase 1 voting will start on April 19 and end on June 1 with Phase 7 voting. June 4 is when the votes will be tallied. West Bengal will participate in all seven phases of voting, sending 42 MPs to the Lok Sabha. The other two states that will have voting in all seven phases are Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Here is the detailed schedule of the Lok Sabha across the state of West Bengal:
Phase 1 (April 19): On April 19, voters in Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar will choose their representatives. Alipurduar is allocated for ST candidates, while Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, and Alipurguri are reserved for SC candidates.
