Uttarakhand 2024 Lok Sabha Election: Date, timetable, and constituency information

The Election Commission of India has scheduled the Uttarakhand Lok Sabha election on April 19. Every constituency will be included in a single phase of this election. The 2024 Lok Sabha elections, which will take place over seven stages from April 19 to June 1, comprising a total of 543 constituencies, were declared by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar.

 April 19 is the scheduled date of the Uttarakhand Lok Sabha election. Voting in Uttarakhand will take place in a single phase, according per the announcement from the Indian Election Commission. On Saturday, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar declared that the 2024 Lok Sabha elections will take place in seven stages, starting on April 19 and ending on June 1. 543 constituencies will be covered in the seven phases.

Ahead of the 18th Lok Sabha elections, Uttarakhand, the first state to enact the Universal Civil Code, is preparing.

Tucked away in the Himalayas, the state has served as a polling ground for both the Congress and the BJP in the past.

The BJP won every seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, keeping Congressmen like Harish Rawat out of power. In the 2022 assembly elections, the BJP won 47 of the 70 assembly seats, while the Congress gained 19 seats after losing in 2019. Each of the BSP and Independents has two seats.

Only five of the 543 Lok Sabha seats come from Uttarakhand, with one seat being set aside for candidates from the SC. Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, Anil Baluni, Ajay Tamta, Ajay Bhatt, and Trivendra Singh Rawat are the candidates put forward by the BJP for the 2024 elections.

Congress’s second list features Jot Singh Guntsola, Ganesh Godiyal, and Pradeep Tamta. The state anticipates a dynamic electoral contest as parties prepare to woo voters in the upcoming elections.

The schedule for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections was released by the Election Commission. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has said that the voting will take place in seven stages beginning on April 19. On June 4, the final results will be announced.

Phase 1 on April 19, Phase 2 on April 26, Phase 3 on May 7, Phase 4 on May 13, Phase 5 on May 20, Phase 6 on May 25, and Phase 7 on June 1 are the dates specified for voting. The present Lok Sabha’s tenure expires on June 16, hence a new House must be established before to that date.

June will also see the conclusion of the terms for the assembly in Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and Odisha. With the dates of the elections announced, the model code of conduct is now in force.
