Viral "Kumbh Girl" Marriage Crisis: Husband Charged Under POCSO After Probe Reveals Monalisa is a Minor
The viral “love story” of the 2025 Mahakumbh sensation Monalisa Bhosle has taken a dark legal turn. Investigations by the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) have revealed that the social media star is legally a minor, leading to the registration of a POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act case against her husband, actor-model Farman Khan.
The revelation has sent shockwaves through social media, transforming what was portrayed as a “victory of love” into a high-stakes criminal investigation involving forged documents and cross-state legal battles.
The Investigation: Birth Records vs. Forged Certificates
While the couple claimed Monalisa was 18 at the time of their wedding on March 11, 2026, a deep-dive probe has uncovered a different reality:
- The Real DOB: Hospital records from Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh, confirm Monalisa’s date of birth as December 30, 2009.
- The Age Gap: At the time of the wedding, she was exactly 16 years, 2 months, and 12 days old.
- Forgery Allegations: Investigators found that a forged birth certificate was used to register the marriage in Kerala. The NCST has now ordered the immediate cancellation of this fraudulent document.
Legal Hammer: POCSO and Kidnapping Charges
Following the age verification, the Madhya Pradesh police have intensified legal action against Farman Khan:
- Multiple FIRs: Khan has been booked at the Maheshwar police station under the POCSO Act, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for criminal conspiracy, and relevant sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
- National Oversight: NCST Chairman Antar Singh Arya has summoned the Directors General of Police (DGPs) of both Kerala and Madhya Pradesh to appear in New Delhi on April 22.
- Reporting Mandate: The Commission has demanded progress reports every three days to ensure no lapses in the investigation.

Monalisa Bhosle became a national sensation during the 2025 Mahakumbh in Prayagraj. Known for her striking amber eyes, she was discovered selling rudraksha garlands at the Triveni Sangam. Her viral fame led to modeling offers and a role in the film Nagamma, where she met Farman Khan.
The Kerala Wedding Controversy
The marriage took place last month at the Arumanoor Sri Nainaar Deva Temple in Poovar, Kerala.
- Interfaith Tensions: The wedding drew “Love Jihad” allegations from various groups, which the couple denied in press conferences, stating they respected all religions.
