Today's IPL match pits PBKS against RR; the two teams' head-to-head record
The Punjab Kings, who have only won two of their five IPL 2024 games, have had a mixed bag of results. On Saturday, they will play the reigning Rajasthan Royals at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium.
The Royals will try to get back on track with a victory over PBKS after suffering their first loss of the season at the hands of the Gujarat Titans on Wednesday. The winners of the first IPL put a formidable 195 on the board for the Titans. Nevertheless, Shubman Gill, the GT captain, recovered with a mesmerizing innings to cut the run differential. In the end, Rashid Khan’s stunning final-ball performance guaranteed victory for the former champions.
However, the Punjab Kings’ most recent matchup with the Sunrisers Hyderabad ended in a disheartening loss as well. The winners of the 2016 tournament scored 182 runs in the opening half and then demonstrated similarly strong bowling. Ashutosh Sharma and Shashank Singh made a valiant effort, but ultimately the PBKS were defeated by two runs.

Comparatively
Sanju Samson-in charge Given their recent results and head-to-head record over the years, RR will be going into this match with a lot of confidence against the hosts. RR has won 15 of the 26 games that have been played between the two. But when PBKS defeated Rajasthan in 2023, they had the last laugh.
