Shubman Gill played an important role in Gujarat’s win over Rajasthan on Wednesday. His opening knock of 72 off 44 balls helped Gujarat win. With the help of that innings, Shubman broke several precedents. Among them, the Gujarat captain created history in the IPL by breaking a record of Kohli.

Shubman has broken Kohli’s record as the youngest player to score 3000 runs in IPL. He set this precedent at the age of 24 years and 215 days. Kohli set this precedent at the age of 26 years and 186 days. So far that was the precedent of 3000 runs at the youngest age. That precedent was broken courtesy of Shubman.

Not only that, Shubman has also reached number three in terms of scoring 3000 runs in the least innings. He is second among Indians. Chris Gayle is the first to score 3000 runs in the shortest innings in IPL. The West Indies batsman who played in multiple teams of IPL set this precedent in just 75 innings. It is followed by KL Rahul (80). Shubman is joint third with Jos Buttler, Faf du Plessis. Each took 94 innings.

In total, Shubman scored more than 4000 runs in the T20 format. Out of 3000 runs in IPL, he scored 1500 runs for Gujarat. He has played two seasons before this. This is the third season. This time he is also the captain.
