Rumours are rife that the ‘Love Aaj Kal’ duo may just reunite for another romantic film – Aashiqui 3. Since Kartik bagged the lead role in the musical, fans and the media have been speculating which actress will bag the lead role opposite the hunk.
While there have been a bunch of names in the mix, media reports state that Sara is the front-runner and the makers have even reached out to her to discuss the project.
If she does come on board, this will be her second collaboration with Kartik, and the actors may just get to redeem themselves from the disastrous box office performance of Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Love Aaj Kal’ in 2020.
Bollywoodhungama also claims that the makers of the film are looking to cast another female actor as the third lead.
Kartik was most recently seen in the Rohit Dhawan starrer ‘Shehzada’ which failed to make a mark at the box office. He also has ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’, an untitled project with filmmaker Kabir Khan and ‘Captain India’. Sara, on the other hand, is awaiting the release of her film with Vicky Kaushal and her OTT film ‘Gaslight’ and ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ in the works.
