Jammu and Kashmir 2024 Lok Sabha Election: Date, Timetable, Electoral District Information
The Indian Election Commission declared on Saturday that there will be five phases to the Lok Sabha voting process.
April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, and June 4 would be the dates of the polling.
One of the varied states of India, Jammu & Kashmir is represented in the Lok Sabha by five of six seats. Prior to Ladakh’s designation as a distinct Union territory in 2019, it was regarded as a part of Jammu & Kashmir.
Jammu, Udhampur, Anantnag, Srinagar, and Baramulla are the state’s five constituencies. Some of the main political parties that compete for a seat from the state include the Congress, the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (JKPDP), and the Communist Party of India (CPI(M)).
In 2019, the BJP won the seat in Ladakh, which was then a part of J&K, while the NDA won two seats and the JKNC won three.
The BJP has put up Dr. Jitendra Singh of Udhampur and Jugal Kishore Sharma of Jammu for the next elections.
It is probable that the NDA and JKNC would run separately for each of the five seats.
