IPL 2024 GT vs PBKS: Shashank Singh steals Gujarat victory! Punjab won by 3 wickets
Punjab Kings won a thrilling last over thriller at the home ground of Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. Preity Jinta’s team returned to victory after losing 2 matches in a row. Shashank Singh was the hero of Punjab’s win as Gujarat won the match in the last few overs. Chasing 200 runs, Punjab Kings won the match by 3 wickets with 1 ball to spare.
Punjab Kings won the toss and decided to bowl. Although the start was not good, Shubman Gill batted fast. He played a captain’s innings. Gill practically single-handedly pulled the team from start to finish. Shubman Gill is accompanied by Kane Williamson, Sai Sudarshan, Rahul Tewatia. Three people scored 26, 33 and 23 runs.
On the other hand, the Gujarat Titans skipper continued his mercurial batting from the opening till the end. Shubman Gill played an impeccable innings of 48 balls and 89 runs. His innings consisted of 6 fours and 4 sixes. Shubman Gill remains unbeaten. In the end, Gujarat Titans scored a big score of 199 runs after losing 4 wickets in 20 overs.
Chasing the target of 200 runs, Punjab Kings did not start well. Shikhar Dhawan’s team kept losing wickets at regular intervals. In between, Jonny Bairstow and Pravsimran Singh tried to put up some fight but could not score big. Bairstow was dismissed for 22 and Pravsimran Singh for 35 runs. Dhawan, Sam Curran and Sikander Rajara did not get runs.
At one point, it seemed that the match was going out of Punjab’s hands. Even then, the two lower order batsmen Shashank Singh and impact plow Ashutosh Sharma changed the color of the game. The two combined mercerary batting to take away Gujarat’s victory. Shashank scored a half century. Ashutosh was dismissed for 31 off 17 balls but Shashank finished the match. Punjab won the match with 1 ball to spare in the last over. Shashank Singh remains unbeaten with 61 runs off 29 balls.
