Two current MLAs and a former lawmaker are among the candidates the Congress has announced for Gujarat. Notably, BJP candidate Rekhaben Chaudhary will face up against two-term Congress lawmaker Geniben Thakor in the Banaskantha Lok Sabha seat. With his notable election victory over BJP heavyweight Shankar Chaudhary in the past, Thakor brings a wealth of experience to the contest.
Additionally, the Congress nominated MLAs Lalit Vasoya for the Porbandar Lok Sabha constituency and Anant Patel for the Valsad seat, which is designated for the Scheduled Tribe (ST) population. After losing both the 2022 assembly elections and the 2019 parliamentary elections, Vasoya, a former MLA, is hoping to make a comeback.
