It's possible that Apple is developing a smart doorbell that supports iCloud and Face ID.
The well-known Apple expert Mark Gurman made the announcement that the new smart doorbell camera will have Face ID in his most recent Power On newsletter.

If accurate, this indicates that the company’s Secure Enclave chip—which stores and processes Face ID data—will be used by the next doorbell. According to Gurman, the camera “will make use of Apple’s in-house “Proxima” combination Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chip,” which may also make an appearance on the highly anticipated HomePod and the next generation of Apple TV devices. The device will “probably” function with current HomeKit-compatible smart locks. By processing Face ID-related photos on the iPhone itself and possibly backing up the data to iCloud, Apple’s new wireless networking chip, Proxima, is reportedly giving the tech giant a new option to improve its cloud-based subscription service. Apple is anticipated to release the new smart doorbell sometime in late 2025, while Gurman pointed out that the product is still in the early phases of development. A new 6-inch touchscreen smart home hub device, possibly with a new operating system and support for FaceTime and Apple Intelligence, is also rumored to be coming alongside Apple’s new smart doorbell with Face ID.
