


Calcutta will be hot again on Tuesday! Despite the rain, the heatwave will continue across South Bengal till Friday
South Bengal’s Kolkata and Howrah districts experienced no heat wave on Monday and Tuesday. However, except Kolkata and Howrah, other districts of South Bengal experienced heat wave on Monday.
Although there is a possibility of one or two rains in some southern districts, the people of Bengal are not getting relief from the heat wave right now. Heatwave conditions are likely over South Bengal for the next several days under the influence of dry westerly winds coming from the north-west. This is what Alipur Meteorological Department predicted.
On Monday afternoon, some areas of East Midnapore, West Midnapore, Purulia, Jhargram, Bankura, Birbhum and West Burdwan districts are likely to experience light rain with thunder, but there is no hope of lowering the temperature. Hot and unsettled weather will persist across South Bengal. While parts of North Bengal’s Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Jalpaiguri districts will be drenched in light rain, rest of the northern districts will have dry and uncomfortable weather on Monday.

The Meteorological Office has issued a heatwave warning for the districts of South Bengal for the next five days. However, there was no heat wave in South Bengal’s Kolkata and Howrah districts on Monday and Tuesday. However, except Kolkata and Howrah, other districts of South Bengal experienced heatwave conditions on Monday.

Even if the temperature drops by one to two degrees Celsius across South Bengal in the next two days, the people of Bengal will not be spared from the heat. According to weather office sources, the heatwave will continue across South Bengal till next Friday, despite the drop in temperature. Even after two days, the temperature is likely to rise again.
