Bengal Top Cop Says He'll Hear Complaints After Spending The Night In Sandeshkhali
Rajeev Kumar, the DGP of West Bengal. traveled to Sandeshkhali on Wednesday and spent the night . so there in order to evaluate the situation in the volatile . and parts of the district of North 24 Parganas.
Kolkata: On Thursday, West Bengal DGP Rajeev Kumar declared that law enforcement . that will consider the grievances of the residents of Sandeshkhali . and that those found guilty would face severe consequences.
Mr. Kumar promised tough punishment against anybody . so found to be involved in torturing women. Mr. Kumar traveled to Sandeshkhali on Wednesday .

So spent the night there to inspect the situation . and in the volatile areas in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.
“I came to speak with my officers here. It is our duty to consider the welfare of the populace. Everybody’s objections so will be heard by us. If there is an event involving land grabbing or anything else. the guilty will face harsh consequences. We will take necessary but action against anybody discovered to be involved in torturing, Mr. Kumar said to reporters this morning in Dhamakhali.
In his first trip to the region since the protests started . Mr. Kumar met with ADG South Bengal Supratim Sarkar . so Basirhat Police District SP Hasan Mehedi Rehman . and other law enforcement officials on Wednesday evening. He also took a tour of the nearby islands of Situlia . Sardarpara butand Manipur to gain a better understanding of the situation there.
On Thursday, a special delegation from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) will visit Sandeshkhali to look into claims of land grabbing and sexual assault.
The NHRC has sent notifications to West Bengal Chief Secretary BP Gopalika . DGP, requesting reports on violent so incidents in Sandeshkhali . and information on the steps taken . and to apprehend those responsible for crimes there within a four-week period.
