Anish plotted for a month before murdering his colleague Mahesh due to their feelings for the same woman. He made extensive preparations, including hiding the body, burying it, and disposing of belongings in different locations.
NEW DELHI: Despite elaborate subterfuge after the murder of a senior Survey of India official, police were able to charge sheet a man for the crime and reveal the extensive preparations he made for the crime and its cover-up. Anish decided to eliminate his colleague as both men had feelings for the same woman.
The charge sheet only names the murderer as Anish, and the victim as Mahesh.
It describes how Anish, after the murder on Aug 28, 2023, had Mahesh’s phones couriered to Noida to thwart tracking of the device. He also accessed Mahesh’s WhatsApp account and put up a sad status about a loan. Anish left his own phone at his home in Haryana’s Gohana, asking a friend to make calls from the device, effectively establishing his presence there.
