Hyderabad stadium electricity connection restored, Dhoni's game will start at the specified time
There was doubt about the Hyderabad-Chennai match of IPL. The electricity to the stadium was disconnected due to non-payment of bills. Power was restored on Friday morning.
Relief returned to the camp of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Pat Cummins. Power returned to Hyderabad’s Uppal Stadium. The suspense surrounding the Sunrisers Hyderabad-Chennai Super Kings match on Friday evening has come to an end. Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) officials are also unconcerned.
The Telangana State Electricity Supply Company restored the connection to the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The HCA president said in a statement, “The government supply agency has restored the electricity connection to the stadium ahead of the Hyderabad-Chennai match of the IPL. There is no problem with the Friday evening match. The game will be played as per the scheduled schedule.
The authority of Telangana State Sardan Power Distribution Company Limited said that the outstanding electricity bill amount of HCA is 1 crore 63 lakh 94 thousand 521 rupees. He did not give the money even after giving repeated notices. A notice was sent last February warning of legal action if the dues are not cleared within 15 days.

The HCA officials were not moved by that. After this on Thursday, the workers of the government agency cut off the power supply of Uppal Stadium. There were doubts about the Hyderabad-Chennai match being held in the stadium without electricity on Friday.

It is not known how the problem was solved even though the electricity connection of the stadium was restored. The HCA president did not say whether the remaining amount of about 1 crore 64 lakhs of the bill has been settled to the government agency or not.
HCA owed Tk 3 crore 5 lakh 12 thousand 790 for electricity bill. Out of this, the original bill amount was 1 crore 41 lakh 18 thousand 269 taka. The remaining 1 crore 63 lakh 94 thousand 521 taka was surge charge. The HCA had requested the Telangana state electricity company to waive off the surge charges due to the coronavirus pandemic. But power company bosses turned down that request long ago.
